Skills and Qualifications

Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:

  • • 3 year post secondary education with a focus on Sales and Marketing
  • • 2-4 years previous experience in a sales role, preferably in the aviation industry
  • • Demonstrated sales experience
  • • Excellent contract and negotiations skills required
  • • Cost analysis, budget experience, forecasting and statistical analysis experience
  • • Knowledge of logistics coordination, cargo handling procedures/capabilities, fleet capabilities
  • • Ability to communicate both written and orally with all levels of the business community and government agencies
  • • Demonstrated organizational, leadership, customer service and interpersonal skills
  • • Must be adept to handling multiple tasks and prioritizing duties
  • • On call availability and willingness to travel extensively, as required.
  • • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision and to meet tight deadlines
  • • Northern related experience considered an asset
  • • Ability to communicate in an Aboriginal language considered an asset
  • • Must hold a valid driver's license and a valid passport
  • • Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada

Duties and Responsibilities

Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • • Responsible for achieving the annual revenue target
  • • Identifies, creates, actions, maintains, protects and maximizes revenue opportunities
  • • Develops new business opportunities to drive increased revenue
  • • Responsible for drafting/presentation/negotiation/implementation of cargo/passenger/cargo contracts and/or RFP's
  • • Identifies contract requirements and charter opportunities
  • • Develops and maintains a customer profile database, including existing and future charter/cargo/passenger customers
  • • Provides accurate analysis, forecasts and intelligence on relevant Northern issues with direct revenue opportunities
  • • Responsible for expense and revenue budget, including monthly cost and revenue analysis
  • • Prepares weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual reports, analyzes revenue performance and identifies avenues for maximzing revenue
  • • Builds and maintains relationships with customers & ensures high level of customer satisfaction
  • • Organizes events & represents First Air professionally in conferences, trade shows and other community/promotional events
  • • Provides excellent internal and external customer service
  • • Active member of the First Air Emergency Response Team
