  This position is in the Maintenance Department.

Skills and Qualifications

Include, but not limited to, the following minimum skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum Grade 12 education
  • Must possess 5 years of previous experience
  • Must possess automotive and heavy equipment repair experience with working knowledge of gasoline, diesel, and propane engines/systems
  • Must hold an Automotive Technician license or Coach/Truck or Heavy Equipment license
  • Inter-provincial certification considered an asset
  • Previous experience with minor welding and fabricating considered an asset
  • Basic knowledge of electronics, fuel injection systems and hydraulic systems considered an asset
  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • Must possess minimal hand tools
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Ability to speak Inuktitut/English, French/English an asset.
  • Must provide a medical certificate indicating the ability to perform physical labour related duties (on request)
  • Must be willing to travel
  • Ability to obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada

Duties and Responsibilities

Interested candidates should be able to perform the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all work carried out is properly documented in accordance with the procedures
  • Responsible for the care and control of Company publications, tools and equipment are returned after use.
  • Shift work as required
  • Responsibly use and maintain company equipment
  • Use shop equipment in accordance with safety standards
  • Service trouble shooting and repair of Company equipment and customer equipment
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Other duties as assigned.
