Updated Travel Advisory for Yellowknife Customers

Yellowknife cancellations and delays due to volcanic ash cloud

Travel advisory for customers for travel on First Air on March 30, 2016

Due to the cloud of volcanic ash from Alaska’s Pavlof Volcano that has spewed into the air over Northern Canada, we regret to inform you that some of our flights to and from Yellowknife are cancelled today, March 30, 2016. Other flights are expected to operate, but at delayed timings to allow for the ash cloud to move away.

All other flights are planned to operate as per normal schedule.

First Air has already begun to contact and re-accommodate its customers who are affected, by rebooking them on alternate routings according to availability, or permitting customers to delay their travel plans. In order to facilitate changes to travel plans, First Air has revised its ticketing policy for customers booked on flights that are subject to cancellation. Those customers wishing to make alternate travel arrangements can do so without penalty, space permitting, by contacting First Air Reservations toll free in Canada at 1-800-267-1247 or via social media:
